The Foundation for Fisheries and Marisqueo-FUNDAMAR and OPPC-3, with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment, within the framework of the Pleamar Program of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, develop during 2018, the REDMAR II project, a program to promote on-board experiences and improve the exchange of good practices in the Network, in terms of equal opportunities, safety on board and the environment.
The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the REDMAR network, which began in 2013, and promote the employability of women with maritime-fishery training, as well as the exchange of good practices on board safety, the environment and gender equality. REDMAR is, therefore, an innovative project in its framework of action, to address issues that are usually unusual within the sector and with great importance and relevance for fishing.
The REDMAR project, initiated in 2013, was a pioneer in several aspects, among them, the generation of a network of exchange of experiences that favor the interrelation of different entities linked to the fishing sector with the objective of promoting equal opportunities between men and women within of the same.
For this new phase, the project will seek the consolidation of the network established in the first phase of the project, promote the exchange of good practices and promote boarding experiences of women qualified in maritime-fishing training on board fishing vessels.
